NEW NOTATIONS LONDON is both a highly respected and established music engraving house as well as one of the leading music software resellers in Europe. It is also the European distributor for the Score (Winscore) notation program.

Our software sales operation is exclusively internet based but we are able to offer a high level of support, via telephone and e-mail, especially regarding notation software, since we use many of the programs in our engraving work. We have expertise in music of many styles and periods, as well as experience in proof-reading and editing, and have a thorough knowledge of technical issues related to computers and computer software. We maintain a reputation for reliability and fairness.

Stephen Gibson, co-founded New Notations in 1988. He is a composer, music engraver, and software developer. He studied composition at Birmingham University with John Casken, John Joubert and Bill Hopkins and later at The Banff Centre of Fine Arts, Alberta, Canada with Stephen McNeff.

His music encompasses symphonic and chamber music as well as music theatre and opera. He was a semi-finalist in the 1997 Masterprize International Composers' Competition with his orchestral work Spirit of Youth which was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and 35 other radio networks throughout the world.

He has been a music engraver using Score since the late 80's and has gained a wide knowledge of music notation and convention as well as computer related techniques.

Written originally as support for his engraving and composing work, Stephen's computer programs complement and extend the functionality of the Score program. Midiscor, MidiScorWrite, ScorEdit, and Flist are now used as part of the Score system by many of the world's finest music engravers.
